As of my last update in September 2021, the J-20 is a Chinese fifth-generation stealth fighter aircraft developed by Chengdu Aerospace Corporation. It is officially known as the Chengdu J-20. The J-20 is a significant milestone in China’s efforts to modernize its air force and enhance its capabilities in aerial combat and air defense.
The J-20 is designed as a stealth aircraft, which means it incorporates features to reduce its radar cross-section and infrared signature. Its angular design and advanced materials help to minimize its visibility to enemy radar systems. The J-20 is classified as a fifth-generation fighter, putting it in the same category as other advanced fighter aircraft like the U.S. F-22 Raptor and F-35 Lightning II. Fifth-generation fighters are characterized by advanced avionics, sensor fusion, and stealth capabilities.
