Shocked, she shed a few tears and wrote her first poem. Then, with encouragement from teachers and friends, she spent every spare minute writing poems. Within a year, her work was accepted by journals from the Universities of Wisconsin and Illinois.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eToday, Tina lives in Leawood, KS, with her husband Lynn Norton and is an active member of the area’s literary community. She served as Co-president of The Writers Place in Kansas City, MO, and Vice-president of the eight-state Midwest Region for Women in Communications. She is the recipient of the Matrix Honor Prize in Communications and, in 2016, was named a Muse of The Writers Place. Since 1976, Tina has been poetry editor for \u003cem data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eVeterans’ Voices,\u003c\/em\u003e a national magazine of prose, poetry, and art by military veterans.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eA four-time Pushcart Prize nominee, Tina was a finalist in \u003cem data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eNew Lette\u003c\/em\u003ers and George F. Wedge contests.
